The following report was just published this week:  China- ICT Sector Opportunities for Dutch SME Companies

This report is the product of a joint effort between Dutch government posts in China, Dutch and Chinese academia and the China related world of Dutch businesses. The publication was written specifically with SME’s in mind.  ChinaMoves was asked to contribute in making recommendations about style and content.

The report covers the Chinese IT market and its four subsectors (telecoms, hardware, software and IT services) and outlines hurdles and opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors alike.

“In the current 5-year plan the Chinese government stresses IT as one of the seven strategic industries that needs to help China to move from a cheap-labor manufacturing outsourcing location to a world-class innovation-driven high-tech society. Stimulated by foreign investors and many (small) domestic private players the sector has already proven to be highly creative and innovative over the past years. The road for China may still be long, but the country’s impressive development over the last few decades and the growing importance of IT, seem to indicate that the conditions for entrepreneurial opportunities in this sector are promising.”
